David A. Sadock

Chief Executive Officer

David A. Sadock co-founded ETHOS Health Communications with Anita O’Connor in 2002. As Chief Executive Officer, David focuses on long-term initiatives designed to ensure the financial growth and health of the company. Toward that end, he monitors the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to determine how best to position ETHOS for success. David is also charged with developing the company’s marketing efforts and transforming our work into recognizable products and services that differentiate ETHOS from its competitors.

In addition, David is an active leader in neuroscience research and development as a member of the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Therapy Project. The Epilepsy Therapy Project is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to a singular focus: overcoming the funding gaps and roadblocks that slow the progress of new therapies from the lab to the patient.

Before he co-founded ETHOS, David was Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HealthAnswers Education, North Wales, Pennsylvania. Prior to this, he worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb for 12 years in positions of increasing responsibility in sales, senior sales management, and brand marketing. Most notably, he served as Brand Director in the company’s Neuroscience Marketing Division. David received his degree in biochemistry in 1988 from the University of Scranton, where he graduated a Presidential and Mitrani Scholar.

Anita O'Connor

President

Along with David Sadock, Ms. O’Connor founded ETHOS Health Communications in 2002. As President, Anita is directly responsible for ensuring that ETHOS delivers on its goals of providing superior strategic and scientific thinking, precise planning, and excellence in execution in medical education programming. With an extensive background in strategic consulting, Anita is able to make creative and strategic recommendations to help clients achieve their objectives, and her experience supports and strengthens our commitment to providing superior service to all clients. She remains dedicated to building an outstanding company that delivers valuable and meaningful medical education programs to health care practitioners to improve patient outcomes.

Prior to co-founding ETHOS, Anita held positions of leadership at HealthAnswers Education and Arthur Andersen. Anita received her degree in accounting from Villanova University in 1987 and earned her CPA license in 1990.

Larry Lunak

Managing Director

As Managing Director at ETHOS Health Communications, Larry Lunak oversees several of our strategic account teams. In this role, Larry is responsible for providing strategic direction, ensuring the successful delivery of our clients’ programs, and growing our client relationships.

Larry has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a particular focus in oncology. Larry began his career in pharma at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where for 11 years he assumed roles of increasing responsibility, from Territory Manager to Senior Manager of Oncology Sales Analytics to Associate Director of Oncology Marketing. As Larry continued his career, he brought his industry experience and entrepreneurial spirit to various senior management positions in medical communications, including managing his own health care communications and strategic consulting firm.

Larry earned his master of business administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Nathan P. Wible, PharmD

Managing Director

Nathan P. Wible received a doctor of pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP), where he graduated as valedictorian. During his time at PCP, he trained in various practice settings, including a medical center on an Indian reservation with the Indian Health Service of the US Public Health Service, the Global Medical Information Department at Eli Lilly, and Promotional Regulatory Affairs with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Wible also worked with an international HIV/AIDS prevention program with the Department of the Navy in Hawaii. There he interacted with high-ranking international and domestic military officials as well as representatives of the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Subsequently, Dr. Wible carried these impressive experiences into a clinical pharmacist position at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). While there, he trained in a wide variety of disciplines, focusing on oncology, critical care, anticoagulation, and cardiothoracic surgery. His work in anticoagulation and cardiothoracic surgery earned Dr. Wible a newly created position as an inpatient anticoagulation specialist at HUP. In that capacity, he was responsible for building and developing an inpatient anticoagulation service for the Pharmacy Department and hospital. Dr. Wible quickly transformed the service from an unknown entity with a small reach in the hospital to a highly desired consultation service receiving requests from all medical and surgical services. That service continues to operate today, covering anticoagulation for the entire hospital and saving the hospital a significant amount of money each year.

Dr. Wible entered the medical communications field with an intense desire to translate the science of medicine into clinical benefit for patients. At ETHOS Health Communications, Dr. Wible combines his extensive knowledge, clinical experience and skills, business acumen, and strategic thinking to implement highly effective educational programs. He has led and managed successful client relationships in multiple sclerosis (MS), rheumatology, and oncology. In addition, he has worked on client teams for other important programs in rheumatology (arthritis and bone), oncology, neuroscience, and pain. During his work at ETHOS, Dr. Wible has had a wide range of experiences, from new product commercialization to launch to life-cycle management. Most recently, he helped to successfully launch a breakthrough and potential future blockbuster new product into the MS space and is currently supporting that product post-launch.

In his current role, Dr. Wible oversees our Strategic Services team, which is responsible for revenue generation and account management.

Brian Strike

Director of Business Development

As Director of Business Development, Brian Strike’s responsibilities include all activities related to identifying and cultivating new business opportunities to expand and grow ETHOS’ client base. As a member of the leadership team at ETHOS, Mr. Strike heads new business development and planning, as well as communicates ETHOS’ value as a strategic partner to medical and marketing clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Strike also contributes to the formulation of business and marketing plans, and to the development of new products and services. This includes the creation of marketing strategies and messaging that establish ETHOS as a strategic partner with valued experience and a solid reputation.

Mr. Strike is a highly motivated and results-driven sales and marketing professional with a track record of creating new business accounts and expanding relationships to drive revenue. He has more than 13 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Prior to joining ETHOS in 2012, Mr. Strike worked at Medical Communications Media, a leading medical education and communications company. During his 9-year tenure, he held positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Starting as an account executive and culminating as Director-Medical Education, Mr. Strike expanded his responsibilities from sales and account management to later include marketing, new product development, and staff administration. Mr. Strike began his career in health care as a sales representative and field sales trainer for Mylan Bertek Pharmaceuticals. He earned his bachelor of science degree in marketing from Ithaca College.

Kathleen M. Laurie

Vice President, New Business

As Vice President of New Business Operations at ETHOS Health Communications, Kathleen M. Laurie works with the Business Development Team to coordinate and manage our new business efforts with the goal of growing our revenue and expanding our client relationships.

Prior to taking on this role, Ms. Laurie was Vice President of Program Management at ETHOS. In that position, she oversaw the efficient and successful delivery of the medical and promotional programs that the company develops.

Ms. Laurie possesses substantial management expertise, deep industry knowledge, and skillfulness in planning and executing programs. Her dedication to and focus on management drives our outstanding reputation. Before joining ETHOS, Ms. Laurie served as Field Support Engineer, National Training Manager, and Business Unit Manager for Abbott Laboratories. She also owned and operated Infocus Marketing Services, a consulting company providing research and marketing services to the hospital and health care markets.

Patricia D. Kelly, PHR

Vice President, Human Resources

Patricia D. Kelly, PHR, joined ETHOS Health Communications in April 2011 as the company’s first Director of Human Resources. She has an extensive background in legal and compliance issues in the human resources (HR) arena. Prior to joining ETHOS, Ms. Kelly was an employee of Advanta Corporation for 15 years, serving as both an employment law paralegal and Director of Employee Relations. Her expertise includes development of HR strategy to align with corporate goals and objectives including performance management, leadership coaching, workforce planning, and organizational design and development.

At ETHOS, Ms. Kelly designs, implements, and administers HR policies and activities to help meet our company objectives and promote a motivational climate, including opportunities for career growth and development. She manages the compensation and benefits programs, directs the recruiting process, oversees the annual review process, and develops effective procedures for all central HR administration.

Ms. Kelly received her certification as a Professional in Human Resource Management through the Human Resource Certification Institute and Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania. Her certification in paralegal studies is from Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania.

Susan Watson

Chief Administrative Officer

To address the challenges associated with tremendous, rapid company growth and an ever-changing marketplace, ETHOS added Susan Watson to the Leadership Team as Chief Administrative Officer in 2014. In this role, Ms. Watson is responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and management necessary to ensure that ETHOS’ processes and personnel are functioning in an effective, efficient, and coordinated way to achieve our business goals. Ms. Watson’s many years of experience guiding companies through times of change have enabled her to develop the skills necessary to bring value to ETHOS in this role.

Ms. Watson also oversees the effective and successful delivery of the medical and promotional programs that the company develops. Ms. Watson defines, communicates, and measures key goals and expectations for all program managers and program coordinators; coordinates and streamlines workflow; develops and implements training programs; monitors program delivery for quality and efficiency; and develops methods of ensuring continuous process improvement. In this capacity, she ensures the application of corporate standards of excellence.

Ms. Watson began her career with an ABC affiliate television station in Oklahoma, followed by a position as Director of Client Support Services at Hastings Healthcare Group and then as Vice President of Client Support Services at HealthAnswers Education. Throughout her career, Ms. Watson has taken on positions of progressive responsibility that have helped her to develop a deep knowledge of organizational change management. Her previous experience includes creating and implementing processes and an organizational structure to increase productivity and personnel skills. She has overseen the restructuring of a Program Management Department to foster a true client service mentality. Ms. Watson also led the development of digital tools that helped to monitor project-level financial data, timing of programs, and staff levels in real time.

Denise Vone

Vice President, Creative Services

As Vice President of Creative Services at ETHOS Health Communications, Denise Vone is responsible for establishing overarching creative direction and strategy, developing visual style and tone, and ensuring design innovation for all ETHOS programs. She works in collaboration with ETHOS business development teams to creatively translate business and marketing insights into strategic messages for new business initiatives and also oversees design direction for ETHOS’ marketing materials. Ms. Vone elevates ETHOS’ creative thinking to strategically achieve client and brand objectives, in keeping with brand standards. She leads a team of talented Art Directors in the Creative Services Department to develop and produce original creative concepts that push conventional design boundaries and exceed client expectations.

Before joining ETHOS, Ms. Vone was Creative Director at a global software development firm, where she worked with the world’s leading creative agencies to craft innovative and engaging interactive marketing apps and Web sites for their clients. Her extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes managing the direction, development, and execution of numerous digital and traditional marketing programs for major pharmaceutical clients.

With a creative career that spans more than 20 years, Ms. Vone’s background and areas of expertise include new business strategies, creative planning, brand strategy, digital marketing and advertising, mobile app design and development, user experience design, video direction and script writing, creative direction and management of Web site development, project scoping/pricing, as well as traditional print advertising campaigns.

Shaun R. Schanbacher

Vice President, Information Technology

As Vice President of Information Technology at ETHOS Health Communications, Shaun R. Schanbacher is responsible for managing IT operations, adding new technology features to increase efficiency and solve business problems, and capacity planning for the ever-growing ETHOS network.

Before joining ETHOS, Mr. Schanbacher served as a network administrator at a global distribution company for 7 years. In this capacity, he was heavily involved in all aspects of maintaining, supporting, and upgrading the enterprise IT network for the company’s 5,000 employees. After Mr. Schanbacher joined ETHOS in 2009 as Information Technology Manager, he used the experience gained in his former role to enhance ETHOS’ IT infrastructure and enrich user support. His efforts quickly led to successful outcomes for ETHOS’ employees and clients and to his promotion to Director of Information Technology. Additionally, Mr. Schanbacher has been the leader of several internal teams charged with transforming innovative concepts into tools that benefit clients.

Mr. Schanbacher is a graduate of the The iSchool at Drexel University's College of Information Science and Technology, a recognized leader in this field. He also takes continuing education courses to update his skills and challenge his mind.

Thomas J. Dougherty

Chief Financial Officer

Thomas Dougherty joined ETHOS Health Communications in 2011. Tom aggressively plans, organizes, directs, and supervises all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Tom is instrumental in analyzing potential client acquisitions and alliances, as well as the revenue potential for new product and service lines.

Before joining ETHOS, Tom served as Regional Chief Financial Officer for a pharmaceutical services company. During his 17 years with the company, Tom helped facilitate its growth from a privately held company to the prized acquisition of a publicly traded company, where he became Executive Vice President of Finance.

Tom holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Villanova University and a master of business administration degree in finance from Widener University.

Warren A. Katz, MD

Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs

Warren A. Katz, MD, is Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs, responsible for leadership in running his department, quality oversight, and professional networking.

Before joining ETHOS Health Communications, Dr. Katz was Chief of Rheumatology and Chairman of Medicine for more than 12 years at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. He continues to serve as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Katz is board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology.

After earning a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. Katz completed an internship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then completed residencies in medicine at Boston City Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He was awarded a fellowship in rheumatic diseases at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston and held another teaching fellowship in rheumatic diseases at New York University Medical Center. It was there that he started his research in the role of connective tissue metabolism in the urate deposition phenomenon of gout.

During his entire career, Dr. Katz has been actively involved in professional education. He has written numerous abstracts, articles, book chapters, and electronic (CD-ROM and Internet) programs on subjects related to rheumatology, osteoporosis, and musculoskeletal pain management. He often is invited to lecture or lead symposia on these topics at national and international conferences.

Dr. Katz has served on the editorial review boards for several medical journals, including Annals of Internal Medicine and Journal of Rheumatology and was Section Editor of Current Opinion in Rheumatology. He is the author of Diagnosis and Management of Rheumatic Diseases (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins) and Pain Management in Rheumatologic Disorders: A Guide for Clinicians (Drugsmartz Pub). Dr. Katz is past-president of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society, President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and a life fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Currently, he serves on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Rheumatism Society and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Osteoarthritis Research Society International.

Dr. Katz is recognized as a medical education and strategic planning consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. He is a proponent of interactive teaching methods and has developed many interactive teaching programs in various media forms. Dr. Katz uses these methods in his own presentations worldwide.

Among Dr. Katz’s many accolades is the prestigious Dr. Joseph Lee Hollander Award for Excellence and Achievement in Rheumatology, presented by the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has been recognized as a “Best Doctor” by Philadelphia and Town & Country magazines and by Best Doctors in America. He has been listed in Who’s Who in Science, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.

To address the challenges associated with tremendous, rapid company growth and an ever-changing marketplace, ETHOS added Susan Watson to the Leadership Team as Chief Administrative Officer in 2014. In this role, Ms. Watson is responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and management necessary to ensure that ETHOS’ processes and personnel are functioning in an effective, efficient, and coordinated way to achieve our business goals. Ms. Watson’s many years of experience guiding companies through times of change have enabled her to develop the skills necessary to bring value to ETHOS in this role.

Ms. Watson also oversees the effective and successful delivery of the medical and promotional programs that the company develops. Ms. Watson defines, communicates, and measures key goals and expectations for all program managers and program coordinators; coordinates and streamlines workflow; develops and implements training programs; monitors program delivery for quality and efficiency; and develops methods of ensuring continuous process improvement. In this capacity, she ensures the application of corporate standards of excellence.

Ms. Watson began her career with an ABC affiliate television station in Oklahoma, followed by a position as Director of Client Support Services at Hastings Healthcare Group and then as Vice President of Client Support Services at HealthAnswers Education. Throughout her career, Ms. Watson has taken on positions of progressive responsibility that have helped her to develop a deep knowledge of organizational change management. Her previous experience includes creating and implementing processes and an organizational structure to increase productivity and personnel skills. She has overseen the restructuring of a Program Management Department to foster a true client service mentality. Ms. Watson also led the development of digital tools that helped to monitor project-level financial data, timing of programs, and staff levels in real time.

Denise Vone, Vice President, Creative Services

As Vice President of Creative Services at ETHOS Health Communications, Denise Vone is responsible for establishing overarching creative direction and strategy, developing visual style and tone, and ensuring design innovation for all ETHOS programs. She works in collaboration with ETHOS business development teams to creatively translate business and marketing insights into strategic messages for new business initiatives and also oversees design direction for ETHOS’ marketing materials. Ms. Vone elevates ETHOS’ creative thinking to strategically achieve client and brand objectives, in keeping with brand standards. She leads a team of talented Art Directors in the Creative Services Department to develop and produce original creative concepts that push conventional design boundaries and exceed client expectations.

Before joining ETHOS, Ms. Vone was Creative Director at a global software development firm, where she worked with the world’s leading creative agencies to craft innovative and engaging interactive marketing apps and Web sites for their clients. Her extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes managing the direction, development, and execution of numerous digital and traditional marketing programs for major pharmaceutical clients.

With a creative career that spans more than 20 years, Ms. Vone’s background and areas of expertise include new business strategies, creative planning, brand strategy, digital marketing and advertising, mobile app design and development, user experience design, video direction and script writing, creative direction and management of Web site development, project scoping/pricing, as well as traditional print advertising campaigns.

Shaun R. Schanbacher, Vice President, Information Technology

As Vice President of Information Technology at ETHOS Health Communications, Shaun R. Schanbacher is responsible for managing IT operations, adding new technology features to increase efficiency and solve business problems, and capacity planning for the ever-growing ETHOS network.

Before joining ETHOS, Mr. Schanbacher served as a network administrator at a global distribution company for 7 years. In this capacity, he was heavily involved in all aspects of maintaining, supporting, and upgrading the enterprise IT network for the company’s 5,000 employees. After Mr. Schanbacher joined ETHOS in 2009 as Information Technology Manager, he used the experience gained in his former role to enhance ETHOS’ IT infrastructure and enrich user support. His efforts quickly led to successful outcomes for ETHOS’ employees and clients and to his promotion to Director of Information Technology. Additionally, Mr. Schanbacher has been the leader of several internal teams charged with transforming innovative concepts into tools that benefit clients.

Mr. Schanbacher is a graduate of the The iSchool at Drexel University's College of Information Science and Technology, a recognized leader in this field. He also takes continuing education courses to update his skills and challenge his mind.

Thomas J. Dougherty, Chief Financial Officer

Thomas Dougherty joined ETHOS Health Communications in 2011. Tom aggressively plans, organizes, directs, and supervises all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Tom is instrumental in analyzing potential client acquisitions and alliances, as well as the revenue potential for new product and service lines.

Before joining ETHOS, Tom served as Regional Chief Financial Officer for a pharmaceutical services company. During his 17 years with the company, Tom helped facilitate its growth from a privately held company to the prized acquisition of a publicly traded company, where he became Executive Vice President of Finance.

Tom holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Villanova University and a master of business administration degree in finance from Widener University.

Warren A. Katz, MD  Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs

Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs

Warren A. Katz, MD, is Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs, responsible for leadership in running his department, quality oversight, and professional networking.

Before joining ETHOS Health Communications, Dr. Katz was Chief of Rheumatology and Chairman of Medicine for more than 12 years at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. He continues to serve as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Katz is board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology.

After earning a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. Katz completed an internship at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then completed residencies in medicine at Boston City Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He was awarded a fellowship in rheumatic diseases at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston and held another teaching fellowship in rheumatic diseases at New York University Medical Center. It was there that he started his research in the role of connective tissue metabolism in the urate deposition phenomenon of gout.

During his entire career, Dr. Katz has been actively involved in professional education. He has written numerous abstracts, articles, book chapters, and electronic (CD-ROM and Internet) programs on subjects related to rheumatology, osteoporosis, and musculoskeletal pain management. He often is invited to lecture or lead symposia on these topics at national and international conferences.

Dr. Katz has served on the editorial review boards for several medical journals, including Annals of Internal Medicine and Journal of Rheumatology and was Section Editor of Current Opinion in Rheumatology. He is the author of Diagnosis and Management of Rheumatic Diseases (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins) and Pain Management in Rheumatologic Disorders: A Guide for Clinicians (Drugsmartz Pub). Dr. Katz is past-president of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society, President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and a life fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Currently, he serves on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Rheumatism Society and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Osteoarthritis Research Society International.

Dr. Katz is recognized as a medical education and strategic planning consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. He is a proponent of interactive teaching methods and has developed many interactive teaching programs in various media forms. Dr. Katz uses these methods in his own presentations worldwide.

Among Dr. Katz’s many accolades is the prestigious Dr. Joseph Lee Hollander Award for Excellence and Achievement in Rheumatology, presented by the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has been recognized as a “Best Doctor” by Philadelphia and Town & Country magazines and by Best Doctors in America. He has been listed in Who’s Who in Science, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.
